Popis: Workers in copper-producing works are exposed occupationally to dust, sulfur dioxide, and aerosols of sulfuric acid, chlorine, hydrogen chloride, nitrogen oxides, lead, selenium, arsenic, etc. (Table 1), which may lead to an injury of the mucous of the upper air ways (UAW) (Alexieva and Kiryakov 1982; Volfkovich 1963; Dimov 1975, 1984; Gamble et al. 1984; WHO 1977, 1979, 1987; Soskone 1984; Tzalev and Zaprianov 1983), including disorders in olfactory function. In determining the threshold limit value (TLV; Table 2) of dust and chemical noxa in the air of the work environment, of special interest is the degree of effect on exposed workers, as well as the rate of disorders in the function of the analyzer and chronic changes involving diseases of the (UAW).
