Popis: The Cellular Network makes up the heart to how mobile devices communicate with one another, share and stream data, and actually perform specific core functions. Two main types of communications are at work within the cellular network: Code Division Multiple Access (CDMA) and Global Systems for Mobile Communications (GSM). Mobile devices must constantly perform network authentications and communicate back where they are located. A few short years ago only GSM devices were found to have subscriber identity module (SIM) cards. Today, many smartphone CDMA devices require SIM. This chapter provides insight into how all the components work together, terms that are used to describe the components, and how a call is routed to either a landline or another mobile device.
