Studies of the β-decay of 96Y and the level scheme of 96Zr

Popis: The β-decay of 96Y has been investigated by the three on-line separators JOSEF, LOHENGRIN and OSIRIS. Evidence for two decay modes is given. The half-lives of the two β-decaying levels are 6.0±0.3 sec and 10.0±0.3 sec. The 6.0 sec state is assumed to be the ground state of 96Y with spin and parity Jπ = 0−. The value of Qβ is 6200±200 keV. The decay scheme of 96Zr, based on coincidence measurements, has been established and is in agreement with the results of the nuclear reaction experiments.
