Popis: Nurse honey bees, Apis mellifera L., were fed alternately a balanced diet and an all-carbohydrate diet, and the content of pantothenic acid, pyridoxine, niacin, and ascorbic acid in the subsequent larval food produced was compared. For all but ascorbic acid, the vitamin content of the larval food decreased with increasing age of the bees even after the bees had been returned to the balanced diet.
