Popis: | The magic-angle spinning 31 P NMR spectrum of Cd 3 P 2 is reported. Three lines with intensities nearly 1:1:2 are observed, as expected from the X-ray determined crystal structure. In light of this agreement and the reported identical crystal structures, the 31 P NMR of Zn 3 P 2 is re-examined. At room temperature, a doublet of equal intensities is observed and has been explained previously as an accidental overlap. This interpretation is confirmed by the observation that the overlap is removed at low temperatures. In addition, an unexpected overall frequency shift with temperature is observed and attributed to a Knight-shift-type mechanism. |
