Popis: | To identify peripapillary microvascular changes in eyes with primary open-angle glaucoma, the author studied flat-mount retina using nicotinamide adenine dinucleotide phosphate (NADPH)-diaphorase histochemistry and selective microvascular corrosion casting of human eye-bank eyes. Decreased densities of peripapillary microvasculature were found in glaucomatous eyes. Regional vessel losses of the peripapillary microvasculature could be related to the changes of visual function in primary open-angle glaucoma. |
