Popis: | A novel observer-based feedforward compensation method is proposed to improve the output voltage regulation of a boost power-factor-correction (PFC) rectifier. A feedback observer estimates the load current for use in the feedforward correction of the inductor current. The feedback gain of the observer is intimately related to the regulation error of the output voltage. Given required performance, an equation for choosing the observer feedback gain is presented. The proposed compensation scheme is verified on a 1.5-kW, 380-V boost PFC rectifier, showing significant improvement of load regulation capability with less than 1% of the maximum change in the mean output voltage for sudden 1-kW changes in the output power. |
