Comparison of analog and discrete energy detectors of the deterministic radio signals of unknown form

Popis: We carry out the efficiency comparison of analog and discrete energy detectors. Unlike the approach presented in the popular studies, we deal with the case of nonoptimal reception. As a useful signal, the determined narrow-band signal is considered for which the bandwidth is known, while both the form and some other parameters remain unknown. For this case, we find the distribution of decision statistics for the discrete energy detector and prove that in energy of response discrete detector is almost equivalent to the analog one. Thus, here we see no loss in detection quality due to the discretization.
