Popis: The article deals with the activity of Swedish lyricist, translator, memoirist Tomas Tranströmer who was marked by Nobel Prize in Literature in 2011. A great number of his contemporaries thought of him as one of the greatest poets of the second half of the ХХ-th – the beginning of the ХХІ-st centuries. His own bibliography that consists of more than ten original collections, books of autobiographical prose and collections of translations is presented in detail. The article traces attributive features of Tomas Tranströmer’s poetry and among them – following his own basic artistic stratagems, the specific character of working out within the format of a poem in prose, establishing highly individualized contrasts of the categories of “nowadays” v. “reality” that are not synonyms for this writer. The article claims that usual, “earthly” laws and realities in his poetry organically interact with completely irrational, alternative spaces (alter-spaces). It is underlined that poems in prose of Tomas Tranströmer have poetic and prose structure and, from one side, they have internal integrity, while from the other side, they are marked by fragmentation and segmentation of the total artistic “picture”. The special place is devoted to a review of individual and creative interactions with one more Nobel laureate – Joseph Brodsky, who was awarded the most prestigious prize in 1987.
