Popis: This survey is based on a conceptual review of whiteness as an analytical category of studies involving race relations and the construction of white racial identity. The term whiteness is coined before racial relations, especially against an ideology of whitening and forms of eugenics, which gives the white an ideal model of "human being". In this conjuncture of whites' power in relation to the blacks, humanity becomes divided between races that are hierarchically placed for the maintenance of a white privilege. The concept adds a paradigm shift in racial studies that highlight the racial construct of whiteness historically silenced by the role of the white in building a hierarchical society. However, this constitution of the white identity may have other constructions as a critical whiteness implied in a white anti-racist who moves him to a frontier zone of conflicts.
