Ashby is an Associate Professor of Psychology at the University of California, Santa Barbara. He obtained his Ph.D. in Cognitive-Mathematical Psychology in 1980 from Perdue University. His major research interests are perceptual and cognitive processes in identification and categorization, with this major current theoretical framework being stochastic general recognition theory. He is the author (with J. T. Townsend) of Stochastic Models of Elementary Psychological Processes, Cambridge Univ. Press, 1983. Kornbrot is a Reader in Mathematical Psychology at the University of Hertfordshire. Her major research interests are mathematical modeling or judgment and decision making and statistical inference. |
