Popis: The noise in natural gas distribution systems is mainly caused by pressure reduction in shut-off and control valves. The aim of present research is to analyze dynamics of an air pressure reducing valve with a muffler installed at its output. An increase of output impedance can lead to a loss in stability and control accuracy. Therefore, the valve simulation model in software package MATLAB/Simulink is developed in order to study the muffler’s impact on static and dynamic performances of the pressure reducing valve. As a result of performed modeling and simulation the influence of the output throttle resistance on the system main operating parameters is obtained. The output data can be used to optimize sizing of the muffler for the air pressure reducing valve.
