Popis: The plants of the Hawaiian silversword alliance area classic example of the process of adaptive radiation. The genetic basis of phenotypic variation among 23 taxa is proposed for the enzymes ADH, GA3PDH, GDH, G6PD, GOT, IDH, ME, PER, 6PGD, PGI, PGM and TPI. Dupiicate gene expression was observed for ADH, PGI, PGM and TPI, and is interpreted to be the result of polyploidy in the ancestor of the Hawaiian taxa.
