We report ten cases of intestinal obstruction due to foods and how to clinically diagnose and treat this desease was examined. We could make the diagnosis of intestinal obstraction due to food in 5 of 10 cases preoperatively. Two cases were diagnosed as the disease by taking preveous histories. One case was by ultrasonografically; one case by ultrasonografically and abdominal CT scanning; and one case by intestinal contrast medium transit and abdominal CT scanning. Taking histories and imaging diagnosis are effective to make the diagnosis. Some patients with intestinal obstruction due to foods had a severe abdominal pain and inflammatory reaction in hematologic examination, that would be important to make a differential diagnosis from strangulated obstruction. |
