Popis: This study aims at identifying the most important passive impacts of the unstable security situation in Mosul University and their reflections upon education. To accomplish the aims of the study, the researcher divides the study into two aspects. The theoretical aspect tackles the scientific course of Mosul University in the aftermath of 2003 and the most serious indicators through those years which was manifested by: the increase in the number of students who postponed their university education, slack from the university, and move from Mosul University to other universities inside and outside Iraq. The sample of the study consists of 250 male and female students who are chosen equally from colleges of Arts and college of Science. It is through analyzing the results of a questionnaire, that the researcher concludes the following hypotheses: Security instability leads to weakening the students' motive to study in the university. Students who live in the west bank of Tigris river have more absences because of the unstable security situation in comparison to their counterparts living in the east bank neighborhoods. Most of the female students, in contrast to males, prefer not to go to the university by themselves because of the serious security situation. The females' families push their daughters, continuously, to leave the university more than the males' families do.
