Popis: INTRODUCTION COUCH et al. (1969) reported on the use of the IBM 704 computer in formulating linear programmed least-cost diets to study the amino acid requirement of turkey poults from 0–3 weeks of age. These authors used a method in formulating rations similar to that of Maddy et al. (1962, 1963). The same approach was used in the experiments reported herein to determine the amino acid requirements for the growing turkey from 3–8 weeks of age. The computerized formulas used in these experiments were provided through the courtesy of the Monsanto Company, St. Louis, Missouri. PROCEDURE An IBM 704 computer was used to calculate turkey starter rations to be fed to turkey poults from 3–8 weeks of age.
