Popis: | The refractive indices of six members of N -(p- n -pentyloxy benzylidene)-p- n -alkyl anilines (5O.m), with m = 1, 2, 5, 6, 8 and 10 and two members of N -(p- n -hexyloxy benzylidene)-p- n -alkyl anilines (6O.m), with m = 2 and 4 LC compounds were measured with the help of modified spectrometer at four different wavelengths. The experimental data of wavelength dependent refractive indices is fitted using three and two coefficient Cauchy model. The applicability of these two models is assessed based on the fitting parameters as well as from the measured birefringence of liquid crystals. |
