A Neural Network Emulator named NNE-CA was implemented using five recently developed general purpose 56-bits Digital Signal Processor (DSP56001). The NNE-CA is a MIMD (Multiple Instruction and Multiple Data) type parallel processor having Ring-Star coupled 5 DSPs. Its host computer is MVME147 which uses VME bus. The vector quantization using self organized neural network the resistive net for shape from shading and back- propagation algorithms are simulated on the NNE-CA.© (1990) COPYRIGHT SPIE--The International Society for Optical Engineering.
