Popis: | Neutron powder diffraction patterns were recorded using three samples of LixV2O5 with x = 0.4, 0.5 and 0.6. Extra peaks, not indexed by the e cell, infer two commensurate phases with cell parameters equal to 2b, a, 2c. In the e-LixV2O5 x a = 7.132(2) a A , b = 11.4247(2) a A , c = 8.979(2) a A , the lithium is distructed in every second site in both [100] and [001] directions. In the /t32-LixV2O5 x > 0.5 phase, a monoclinic cell is found, a = 7.133(2) A , b = 11.395(3) A , c = 9.049(2) A , β = 90.64(1)° , with the lithium distributed over every second site around one layer and every site around the adjacent layer. Moreover, when cooling the e2-LixV2O5 phase, an opening of the β angle appears which foreshadows the e − δ phase transition. |
