Popis: Fine-needle aspiration has become an indispensable modality for the investigation of mass lesions. This procedure can result in a variety of histologic changes which range from relatively minor to significant. The changes can be broadly classified into three groups: (a) tissue injury and repair, which are the most common; (b) tumour or tissue infarction; and (c) epithelial displacement. Some of these changes can histologically mimic malignancy.
