Low latency ONM video compression method for UAV control and communication

Popis: In this paper, we consider a method for compressing a digital video stream in a television link for unmanned aerial vehicle (UAV) control using psychophysical features of the human eye that allow, without complicating the equipment, to achieve higher visual image quality results and at the same time do not require high latency and computational complexity. It is achieved by dividing the fields into groups. There are fields of 3 types in a group: O-fields, which play the role of support; even N-fields coded by prediction-based compression using the previous field within one frame; Odd M-fields coded by prediction-based compression using the previous odd field from another frame. The proposed methods increase the efficiency of digital stream compression in a television link.
