Popis: | The Slovak Republic, together with another 29 countries, took part in the European School Survey Project on Alcohol and Other Drugs (ESPAD). This venture was carried out in secondary schools during 1999. In Slovakia the project was expanded to include 7975 subjects aged from 15 to 18 years. Three questions which were added to the standard ESPAD questionnaire enabled the sample to be classified into three groups on alcohol tolerance. In general the findings showed that those students who experienced a swift growth in alcohol tolerance were more likely than the rest to have used illicit drugs. The effects held even after allowing for the level of alcohol consumption. |
