Popis: Candida glabrata is a yeast genus fungus that can be found in the normal flora of healthy individuals and can lead to various infections in humans. Candida species cause local infections as well as fatal systemic infections. Recent years have seen an increase in the isolation rate of non-Candida albicans species, especially Candida glabrata. The most important reason for this increase is the change in factor distribution with prophylactic and empirical use of fluconazole. There are articles in the world and in our country reporting that the second isolation frequency after C. albicans is Candida glabrata. Unlike other Candida species, C. glabrata are not dimorphic; C. glabrata are found both commensally and pathogenically as blastoconidia. C. glabrata infections are difficult to treat and are often resistant to many azole antifungal agents, especially fluconazole. As a result, C. glabrata infections are among infections with a high mortality rate.
