PMR spectra and some data on the geometry of macrocyclic ansa-compounds including a thiophene ring

Popis:	1. The PMR spectra of macrocyclic ketolactones including a thiophene ring, and a number of related compounds, were studied. The nature of the spectra indicates that the compounds studied are conformationally labile all the way down to ∼−60°. 2. The combined use of double resonance, anisotropic aromatic solvents, and a lanthanide shifting reagent permitted the assignment of the signals and made it possible to relate the observed peculiarities of the spectra to the mutual steric arrangement of the groups in the molecules of the systems under consideration.
