Popis: To displace the equilibrium in the direction of diol formation, the formaldehyde separated in the reaction should be combined. Farberov and Shemyakin [3] hydrolysed dioxane in the presence of methyl alcohol which with formaldehyde gave methylal distilled from the reaction zone. Diol yield was under 50% calculated on the dioxane taken.
