| Popis: | This chapter deals with the most popular waveform coding method, the differential predictive coding (DPC), which rules the field almost exclusively. Our main purpose is to imbed this family of procedures into the Fine—McMillan type quantizers and investigate whether the restriction of the general model to the class of DPC’s is worth the trouble.
