Popis: | This paper gives an idea of collecting high altitude wind power using air-borne wind turbine-cum-electric generators. The energy of wind at high altitude is collected by this wind turbine. The extracted power is sent to the ground using appropriate Power Electronic Converters (PEC) and cables. Transmission losses and volume of the conducting cables can be reduced by medium voltage DC transmission. A DC-DC converter is used in High Altitude Wind Power (HAWP) generating system to transforms the rectifier output to Medium Voltage DC (MVDC) for the efficient transmission. Switching losses are reduced by maintaining Zero Voltage Switching (ZVS) on the primary side switches. Voltage control loop controls the transmission voltage to an optimal value for efficient power transmission. |
