Popis: Glasses from the SiO2–P2O5–MgO–CaO–K2O system, hardly soluble in water, but possessing capability of self – degradation in soil environment, were obtained. The plants can assimilate mineral nutrients and microelements from them. The mechanism of glass degradation in a soil was studied. It is incongruent dissolution process, analogous to weathering of magmatic rocks and minerals grains. Amorphous silicate gel and phosphates as intermediate products of glass structure decomposition are formed. They are dissolving gradually next. The glasses can be used as nutrients for ecological farming and environment recultivation, reducing the disturbance of biochemical equilibrium, connected with traditional chemical fertilizers application.
