Gene expression is the most fundamental level at which the genotype gives rise to the phenotype. The genetic code stored in DNA is "interpreted" by gene expression, and the properties of the expression give rise to the organism’s phenotype. Change of cell phenotypes occurs as the bifurcation of the mechanobiological state caused by mesodefects (open complex) dynamics with dramatic cytoskeleton reorganization. Non-equilibrium dynamics is accompanied by qualitative changes in DNA and cell "plasticity" occurring in the external constraint. Mechanobiological aspects of cell behavior as out-of-equilibrium critical systems are the basis for the analysis of multiscale DNA transformation with the application to cell biophysical reprogramming in the problem of tumor reversion, cell phenotype changing in microgravity field. |
