| Popis: | The temperature dependence of the linear birefringence (Δn) induced by a uniaxial pressure or a magnetic field has been measured in KNiF3 and RbMnF3. Below TN we find Δn ≈ ∥t∥gb with gb = 0.83±0.01, in agreement with the theoretical prediction β b = 2 − φ − α H . |
