Popis: | Mesh generation in solid dynamics codes has traditionally been computationally intensive, often involving several expensive calculations over an entire mesh to find and correct errors in the geometry/mesh configuration, a process exacerbated by the multiple meshes required in multidimensional domain decomposition codes such as TOLTEC. We have developed a less computationally expensive interactive method for mesh generation and display. In this methodology, geometry models and the associated meshes are developed, viewed in three dimensions and corrected interactively at the workstation level. The time-consuming calculation of volume fractions, velocities and other cell attributes is made at the supercomputer level only after a fully debugged geometry/mesh configuration has been achieved. |
