Popis: The progress in the last 25 years, utilizing the patient’s own tissue for reconstruction, has been amazing. Starting with the landmark procedure of the transverse rectus abdominis flap by Carl Hartrampf, autologous reconstruction has become much more reliable. The aesthetic outcomes have improved as well. This chapter discusses the various types of flaps which are currently employed and their advantages and disadvantages.
