Popis: The system of Lake Zowla- Aneho Lagoon is a hydro system threatened by the problems of pollution by the trace elements. Indeed, the rejection of household waste, the discharge of wastewater from the city of Aneho, the contribution of marine waters and rivers Mono, Haho, and Boko are among other sources of contamination of this ecosystem. Thus, in order to determine the pollution level of in the System Lake Zowla- Aneho Lagoon, a study on sediment contamination was conducted. 18 sediment samples were collected in April (dry season) and August (rainy season) and analyzed for 7 trace metals (mercury, arsenic, lead, cadmium, zinc, copper and chromium) using Thermo Fischer Solaar S2 flame atomic absorption spectrometer coupled to a cold vapour emitter Thermo Scientific VP100 at the Laboratory. The results of analyzes show a spatial and seasonal variation of the contents of the trace elements in the sediments. The average levels of mercury, arsenic, lead cadmium, zinc, copper and chromium are respectively 0.02 mg/kg; 2.8mg/kg; 16.9mg/kg; 1.2mg/kg; 53.57 mg / kg; 12.92 m/kg and 12.7 mg/kg in the dry season and 0.013 mg / kg, respectively; 2.2mg / kg; 11.37 mg / kg; 0.8mg / kg; 32.85mg / kg; 8.56mg / kg and 7.81mg / kg in the rainy season. The calculation of the Contamination Factors and the Geoacumulation Index show that the sediments are slightly to moderately polluted. The sites located in the urbanized zones and of agricultural activities, market gardening are the sites showing strong contaminations. This shows the implication of anthropogenic activities in the contamination of the system of Lac Zowla - Aneho Lagoon.
