Popis: Actinomycosis is a rare, chronic progressive, suppurative infection caused by an endogenous, anaerobic, gram-positivebacterium classified in the genus Actinomyces. This infection usually begins as a localized inflammatory mass with penetration ofthe overlying skin and formation of draining sinuses. Diagnosis depends upon the clinical presentation of non-tendersubcutaneous nodules, abscesses, sinus and discharge followed by histopathological examination, which shows a diffuse mixeddermal infiltrate, microabscess, granulation tissue, fibrosis and characteristic sulfur granules. Primary cutaneous actinomycosis isan uncommon subtype with non-specific clinical symptoms, and thus requires a high index of clinical suspicion. We presenthere two cases of primary cutaneous actinomycosis of the chest region, which had been diagnosed through the skin biopsy.
