Classification of phase diagrams for alkali halide mixtures and the generalized Lindemann criterion

Popis: Thorough analysis of experimental data (the authors' own as well as those from the literature) on alkali halides and their mixtures with a view to application of a generalized Lindemann criterion for melting is presented. The result of a fitting procedure is ionic radii to be used in phase diagram calculations. It is shown that a successful choice of the radii allows one to predict new phase diagrams reliably. The authors' criterion of miscibility was used to finalize the choice.
