Popis: | Currently, we observe a growing interest in obtaining information about what circulates on social media. There is interest in extracting and analyzing data obtained from the Web for a number of reasons as users opinions, users behavior, and networks evolution, for instance. Our study seeks to comprehend how data visualization could support social media data analysts in data understanding and decision making. We conducted interviews, and we analyzed the collected data using qualitative research strategies. Our results reveal a context in which analysts believe data visualization can support data analysis and in which they are aware of related tools. Our findings highlight social media analysts' needs in relation to data visualization in order to provide a basis to design of new tools to this audience. |
