Popis: | An unobtrusive method for short-term heart rate (HR) measurement is proposed based on impedance plethysmography (IPG). The system uses four dry electrodes that protrude from a flat surface and can obtain HR on a single hand resting on them. A finite element model of the hand helps in assessing the contribution of different arteries to the total impedance as measured from three different electrode configurations which offer a good trade-off between ease of use and signal quality. The technique has been validated by simultaneously recording the photoplethysmogram in the same hand. |
