| Popis: | The M/L electron capture ratio of 127 Xe has been measured by means of a multiwire proportional counter. The result P M / P L = 0.183±0.025 is compared with the calculations of Bahcall and of Robinson. Furthermore the decay energy of 127 Xe has been determined to be Q EC 0 = 438± 6 9 keV. A redetermination of the half life yields the value T 1 2 = 36.5±0.1 d . The cross section for the reaction 126 Xe(n, γ) 127 Xe for pile neutrons has been obtained as σ = 0.7±0.4 b. |
