Popis: Reactive lesions of the gingiva are common and tend to be non-neoplastic growths. They have recurrence rates of 5–20% after excision depending on the diagnosis, the completeness of surgical removal and the presence or absence of local irritating factors. It is necessary to obtain histological diagnoses for the lesions as the clinical appearances can be similar among various lesions but the recurrence rates are different. Pyogenic granuloma (PG), also known as granuloma pyogenicum, represents an excessive tissue reaction to some known stimulus or injury. It is a relatively common soft tissue tumor of skin and mucous membranes and can regress if the causative factor is removed otherwise conservative surgery or laser excision is recommended. This paper presents a case report along with the treatment and a review of the literature.
