In vitro antibacterial effects of pseudoephedrine hydrochloride and chlorpheniramine maleate on E.coli and staphylococcus aureus

Popis: To study the antibacterial effects of pseudoephedrine and chlorpheniramine maleate on E coli and staphylococcus aureus in vitro. In this paper, we purified pseudoephedrine and chlorpheniramine maleate, and used the Oxford cup method to research the antibacterial effect of different drug concentrations on different concentrations of E coli and staphylococcus aureus, and selected the appropriate concentration of bacterial solution to compare the antibacterial activity of pseudoephedrine and chlorpheniramine maleate with other antibiotics. The results showed that pseudoephedrine had antibacterial effect on both kinds of bacteria, and was stronger against E coli and staphylococcus aureus at low concentration, however, when the concentration reaches a certain level, the antibacterial effect is relatively weakened. Chlorpheniramine maleate has only weak antimicrobial activity against E coli.
