Popis: Phosphorus pentafluoride comes under the category of toxic gas, which is generally obtained by fluorination of phosphorus pentachloride using arsenic trifluoride. Under most of the recent research investigations, different levels of toxicity and lethality of phosphorus pentafluoride have been discussed. It has shown the toxicological impact on chemical, biological, and environmental systems. Exposure to phosphorus pentafluoride causes dizziness, cough, shortness of breath, nausea, bluish skin color, lung congestion, kidney damage, and damage of mucous membranes. It is, therefore, for safe and secure use of phosphorus pentafluoride, proper assessment of risk is necessary to enhance its application. Under the present chapter, measure, route of exposure, toxicity, risk management, current research, safety, and sources of contaminations have been presented.
