Anharmonicity and low-thermal conductivity in the multi-phase composition of Cu3Bi0.75Sb0.25S3

Popis: In this work, Cu3Bi0.75Sb0.25S3, Cu3Bi0.25Sb0.75S3 materials were prepared by solvothermal method followed by Cold press & annealing (CPA) technique and studied the thermoelectric performance. XRD results exhibited the multi-phase of Cu3BiS3 (59.56%), Cu9S5 (23.77%), Cu4Bi7S12 (12.27%), Cu3SbS4 (4.40%) for Cu3Bi0.75Sb0.25S3 and Cu3BiS3 (46.65%), Cu9S5 (33.92%), Cu3SbS4 (20.42%) for Cu3Bi0.25Sb0.75S3. Cu3Bi0.75Sb0.25S3 with n-type semiconducting nature and narrow bandgap of 0.79 eV exhibited the low thermal conductivity of 0.286 Wm−1K−1 at 353 K. From the obtained results, the cause of low κtot of Cu3Bi0.75Sb0.25S3 was predicted as the interfacial phonon scattering occurred due to the multiphase and anharmonicity of Cu3Bi0.75Sb0.25S3 leading low Cp.
