Acknowledging Brazil ��� The Cinema of Joel Zito Araujo is a documentary film of one of the strongest voices on racial issues in Brazil, the much underrated black Brazilian filmmaker Joel Zito Araujo. This research/documentary examines Araujo���s cinema and academic work, growing up as a black Brazilian, and the motivations and struggles of the most prolific black documentary Brazilian filmmaker. Intertwining Araujo���s body of work and his own life experiences with past and recent alarming statistics on racism and black issues, the aim of this research is to underpin Araujo���s argument that inequality in Brazil has always been racial not social. |
