In our previous work, we presented an ePUB3 eBook-based flipped learning model to provide students with e-learning activities inside/outside classrooms. However, an important issue in its success is the effects of the class discussions because they can activate students' learning from their interactions and the articulation and reflection of learning contents in their own words. In addition, an inquiry-based quality talk incorporates robust features from both of the inquiry-based discussion and the quality talk to provide students with an active and effective learning way for their class discussions. In this paper, we explore the accommodation of such an inquiry-based quality talk method in our ePUB3 eBook-based flipped learning model to enhance the effectiveness of students' learning. The accommodated model is then illustratively applied to an academic 'Reading & Writing' class where a quasi-experimental study on the control analysis of experimental and controlled groups is conduced to verify its validity. |
