Popis: | The outcome of the extrracorporeal circulation with non-blood transfusion (non-blood ECC) was studied in adult patients with coronary artery disease (CAD: n=25) or valvular heart disease (VHD: n=14) in open heart surgery. The surgical outcome was rated “successful” if no additional blood transfusion was necessitated. The two groups were compared for the mean age, body weight (BW), body surface area (BSA), operation time, ECC time, hematocrit (Htc) value at admission, minimum Htc value during operation, the amount of saving blood, and the amount of blood loss after ECC. BW, BSA, and the success rate of non-blood ECC were higher in CAD group than those in VHD group. Then, we compared between subgroup of CAD (CAD': n=13), whose BW were less than 62kg, and VHD group. However, all values were not different between these groups, the success rate was higher in CAD' group than that in VHD group. Pre and post-operative hemodynamic conditions were better in CAD' group than those in VHD group. In conclusion, the success rate of non-blood ECC was higher in CAD group than in VHD group. Possible contribution of physique and hemodynamic condition to the results was thought. |
