Euler deconvolution is an effective method for the rapid delineation of magnetic boundaries and the estimation of depth to their upper edges. It also produces information on the “structural index” (SI), which is essentially the rate of fall-off of anomaly with distance, and is related closely to the geometry of the source. If the source geometry is known, an SI can be specified, and the reliability of the depth information increases. Furthermore, sources of different SI are either eliminated or produce such un-focused locations that they can be, at least partially, screened out. |
