Popis: A novel method of frequency control strategy for an isolated (autonomous) hybrid system in presence of Dish-Stirling solar thermal system (DSTS), battery energy storage system (BESS), fuel cells (FC), aqua electrolyzer (AE) diesel engine generators (DEG), has been investigated. Besides the fluctuating nature of the daily load variation, the available output power from renewable energy sources is stochastic and intermittent in nature. This renders mismatch in generated total power and demanded load and consequently frequency fluctuations, which is a big concern. In order to mitigate the frequency fluctuations, an suitable control mechanism needs to be established. In this paper, an attempt has been made in this direction. The classical controllers such as PI/PID have been integrated with the generating units other than the DSTS to adjust the power output. The parameters of these controllers are tuned using a Genetic Algorithm (GA), Particle Swarm Optimization (PSO) and Flower Pollination Algorithm (FPA) and the comparative performance of these controllers have been presented. Simulated responses contemplated that FPA tuned PID controller superior than all other controllers. Finally, the toughness of the controllers is carried out through sensitivity analysis.
