Popis: Many rural areas, in the archipelagic state like Indonesia, have the problems to grow their financial activities, as the consequences of both the transportation systems and the electrical power distribution. The electrical power delivery limits the system operation although they have air-based-transportation infrastructure. The most reliable solution is to design the low power high-efficiency airport supporting infrastructure that one of them is Airport Surveillance Radar (ASR). This paper presents a high gain and low power S-Band power amplifier (PA) for the Airport Surveillance Radar (ASR-11). The proposed circuit is implemented using GaN HEMT Cree® CGH4010F, and it is powered by a 27.3-V supply with device Power consumption around 16 Watts. To improve power gain of the amplifier, it has a 2-stage cascade scheme. This circuit uses lumped element and transmission line in each cascade stage to reduce the total chip size. The highest power gain of 12 dB for one stage. It means approximately it could bring 24 dB and 62% efficiency. ibis proposed PA design might be an alternative to support ASR-11 for low power Operating mode if his independent Op Amp being cascaded each other to reach approximately 48 dB gain, but surely with this cascaded topology the efficiency will potentially drop.
