Popis: Polybutylene succinate (PBS), its copolymer, and blends have been researched for a few decades due to their specific material properties such as mechanical strength, thermal stability, and biodegradability. PBS can be a process in a wide range of temperatures using typical thermoplastic processing such as extrusion, injection molding, thermoforming, and blow molding. This material has found its way into many applications such as packaging, agriculture, textile, and medical. However, to achieve certain desired properties such as increasing the rate of biodegradation, some modifications should be made. Many approaches can be done to achieve this, such as synthesize a new copolymer or by blending. In this chapter, the synthesis, processing, and properties of PBS, its copolymers, and blends are reviewed. The effects of copolymers and blends on the properties of PBS are discussed in detail.
