Popis: | The SCADA systems are very common in the area of monitoring and controlling the industrial processes, because of the series of advantages they offer like scalability, high security, full control on the monitored process, and easy inter-connection with other systems. This paper proposes a new model to transport, store and manage data acquired from the industrial filed buses, based on the CORBA middleware. Our model extends the functionality of an existing SCADA system, based on OPC Data Access specification and DCOM middleware. In order to achieve our goal, we adapted the OPC DA classical specification to the CORBA technology. To test the functionality of our model, we developed a data server which implements the main functionality of a classical OPC server and also a client, both written in C++ programming language. The main advantages of the proposed solution, related to the OPC DA classical specification, are the platform independence, enhanced security, and the possibility to transport data over the Internet. |
